Central Park attack: Man arrested after NYPD officer hit-and-run by motorcyclist in Manhattan, NYC

NEW YORK (WABC) — One person has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run accident that injured an NYPD police officer in Central Park last month.

Brent Rosa, 18, of the Bronx, was taken into custody and charged with assault, reckless endangerment and fleeing the scene of a crime.

Police said Rosa was part of a group of three motorcyclists accused of hitting and knocking the officer to the ground last month.

The incident occurred on May 24 near West Drive and West 90th Street as the officer attempted to escort the group out of the park.

Two suspects are still being sought in connection with the attack.

New York City Councilwoman Julie Won led the rally in front of the Sunnyside building where the fire broke out.
