Prince George’s child gets stuck in basket; TikTok of incident receives over 1 million views

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Prince George County child got stuck in a basket Thursday and emergency responders rushed to his aid. A TikTok of the incident garnered over a million views in less than 24 hours.

According to the Prince George County Fire and Emergency Services, the incident occurred on Thursday, June 7. Firefighters and emergency services responded to what authorities described as a “unique and heartwarming call.”


“A curious little adventurer was trapped in a basket,” the Facebook post is on the rescue list.

According to the authorities, the “little explorer” was carefully and quickly freed from the basket.

His mother, Ebony Chappell, posted a TikTok video of firefighters assessing the situation – and also a clip of someone gently rocking the child in the basket to show how stuck he is.

As of Friday evening, this video had 1.3 million views and 87,000 likes.

In a follow-up videoChappell shared a fun fact about the rescue: One of the paramedics present at this adorable rescue was also present at the birth of the same child three years earlier.

“It’s like coming full circle,” Chappell said.
