13-year-old boy rapes eight-year-old girl in Gombe

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested by men of the Gombe State Police Command for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Akko Local Government Area of ​​the state.

While parading the suspect to journalists, the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, said the 13-year-old suspect allegedly dragged the victim to a lonely path and imposed his will on her.

“On May 24, 2024, the Akko Department received a formal complaint alleging that on May 22, 2024, the suspect dragged an eight-year-old girl into a corner and had no idea about her.

On 26 May 2024, a formal complaint was received from one Musa Saleh of Hammadu-Kafi area of ​​Gombe that Husseini carried his four-year-old daughter to a corner near his house and inserted his finger into her private part.

Upon receipt of the complaint, detectives from Pantami Division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and took him and the victim to a specialist for medical examination. The case is still under investigation and will be brought to court upon completion of the investigation.

Police also arrested a 45-year-old man, Mohammed Yaya, from Tumu Akko Local Government Area of ​​Gombe, who allegedly raped a 10-year-old daughter after offering her 100 and 50 naira on two separate occasions.

“On May 27, 2024, the suspect lured a 10-year-old girl into his house and had channel knowledge with him. After preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to having committed the act on two separate occasions. He stated that he gave her 100 and 50 naira respectively. The case is under investigation and will soon be brought to court.”
