Chiefs’ Rashee Rice allegedly hit photographers in nightclub

Rashee Rice could face new legal problems.

Dallas police are investigating the Chiefs wide receiver for allegedly punching a photographer at a local nightclub, WFAA reported Tuesday.

The alleged incident occurred early Monday morning at an address associated with Lit Kitchen and police are currently interviewing witnesses about the alleged assault.

One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and had visible swelling on the side of his face, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. and law enforcement officials confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that Rice was a suspect in the case.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

The latest incident follows Rice – and SMU administrator Teddy Knox – being arrested in connection with a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas in March that sent two people to area hospitals and led authorities to say Rice – and SMU administrator Teddy Knox – were involved in eight people is already facing major legal problems. The crime counts beyond the incident.

Rice is also being sued for $10 million in damages by two of the victims, Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy.

“Despite his physical abilities and his responsibilities as a public figure, Rice raced a high-performance vehicle through the public streets of Dallas County, Texas, losing control and injuring several innocent people, including the plaintiffs in this case,” the statement said Lawsuit was filed last month, said.

Rice turned herself in to authorities in connection with the felony charges in April and was released on bond.

A statement from his attorney, Royce West, said Rice had cooperated with law enforcement in the crash investigation.

“Mr. Rice is aware of his actions and feels deep compassion for those injured in this accident. Our legal team is now tasked with reviewing all legal documents,” part of the statement read.

Rice grew up in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills and played college football at SMU before being selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs receiver recorded 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season.
