1 dead in house fire in Mountain View

According to the Anchorage Fire Department, one person was found dead following a house fire in Mountain View on Friday.

A fire department statement said the fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North Bliss Street.

“Multiple AFD units quickly arrived at the site of a one-story residential building with thick smoke rising from the windows,” firefighters said. “During initial firefighting efforts, crews found one person dead.”

The cause of the fire was initially unclear and was still being investigated on Friday.
