Braves vs. Nationals lineups: Austin Riley, Sean Murphy return to Atlanta lineup in series opener

In what was perhaps the most unknown roster exit of the year, Sean Murphy and Austin Riley return to the lineup after their respective injuries, with Murphy being activated off the IL this morning. Austin Riley will bat second (where he has only four career plate appearances, all in one game) and Murphy will bat fifth, keeping Marcell Ozuna batting third, where he was with Riley. Adam Duvall will play in right field, batting sixth against the left-handed starter, with Jarred Kelenic batting ninth and facing his first left-handed starter of the season with Acuna out for the year. Ozzie Albies replaces Acuna at the top of the lineup, although it remains to be seen if this is solely against lefties or if it’s an everyday occurrence.

Meanwhile, the national lineup features a mix of young and veteran mercenaries. Braves legend Eddie Rosario is cleaning up for them, with CJ Abrams leading off and Luis Garcia at third. Former Brave Lane Thomas hits second to right field and Joey Gallo hits eighth to first base.
