One dead after accident in Midland County

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas – A fatal crash occurred at 2:04 a.m. on May 26 in Midland County at the intersection of CR-1210 and CR-173, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver, 31-year-old Sabrinia Ann Thompson of Andrews, Texas, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital.

The passenger, 27-year-old Dylan Bellesheim of Odessa, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the press release, initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling westbound on CR-173 and was not traveling in a single lane, which is why it left the road while negotiating a curve near CR-1210.

The car rolled over several times, hit a power pole and caught fire.

The crash is currently being investigated.
