Hit-and-run driver arrested after victim sustains life-threatening injuries in Millbrae

(KRON) – A man was arrested for hit-and-run after a woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near Millbrae Avenue and El Camino Real around 5:40 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers rendered aid until the victim was transported to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries.


Officers were informed by witnesses that the driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. The investigation utilized automatic license plate reading technology to locate the suspect.

Officers identified the driver as 32-year-old Nathan U. Tuvalu of Millbrae. He was arrested at his home. He was booked into Maguire Correctional Facility on a hit-and-run charge.
