14-year-old girl killed by car in Newport Beach

On Sunday, detectives in Newport Beach investigated the death of a 14-year-old girl who was hit by a pickup truck on the Balboa Peninsula.

The Newport Beach Police Department issued a report at 7:32 p.m. Saturday that eastbound Balboa Street was closed at westbound Palm Street due to a traffic accident.

Police Sergeant Steven Oberon confirmed to City News Service on Sunday that the deceased was a 14-year-old girl.
