Cher and Elijah Blue are temporarily suspending their conservatorships

Cher and her son Elijah Blue Allman have agreed to suspend “all legal proceedings” related to the singer’s attempt to serve as his temporary conservator.

Mother and son attended a private mediation session after their application to act as his conservator was rejected for a second time in January.

The couple will suspend conservatorship plans “to allow the parties to continue to work together to resolve this matter privately and confidentially,” a spokesperson confirmed.

Cher, 77, has been trying to get guardianship of her 47-year-old son because he was able to access large sums of money from the estate of his late father, Greg Allman.

The singer claimed that access to this amount of money put Elijah at risk due to his past mental health and substance abuse.

Elijah’s legal team argued that a conservatorship was not necessary. Elijah has been in rehab and is currently three months sober.

The court papers said that if a conservatorship was required, Cher would be “unsuitable” to fulfill the role and he would prefer to give it to his wife, Marieangela “Queeny” King. “I do not, under any circumstances, feel comfortable with my mother being my conservator, even if that is necessary,” Elijah said in documents.

Elijah filed for divorce from Marieangela in 2021 after ten years of marriage, but recently reconciled.
