Man is charged with raping two women in the national forest after a third woman heard screams coming from his van

Authorities say a 40-year-old man has been charged with raping two women in a national forest after a third woman was rescued from his van.

Eduardo Sarabia, 40, was arrested Monday after police responded to reports of the sound of a woman screaming for help in his pickup truck in Southern California, local news outlet ABC7 reported.

When the officer arrived, he found the woman trapped inside.

After his arrest, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department learned that he had allegedly sexually assaulted two other women in the previous two days, on May 12 and 13.

According to police, the attacks also occurred near California’s Highway 39 in the Angeles National Forest.

Now the sheriff’s department said investigators believe there could be more victims.

“Due to the nature of the allegations, investigators believe there may be additional unidentified victims,” the department said on Facebook.

“Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying such victims.”

Mr. Sarabia was charged with forcible rape and forced oral copulation.

He is currently being held at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles and will appear in court on June 27.

The Angeles National Forest, located in the state’s San Gabriel and Sierra Pelona Mountains, made national headlines back in 2021 after a hiker went missing for five days.

George Null, 58, was rescued in a remote forest area spanning more than 1,000 square miles – or half the size of the state of Delaware.
