$500,000 bond for former Dubuque priest accused of sexual abuse | Dubuque’s Super Hits 106 – KIYX

Bail has been set at $500,000 for a former Dubuque priest accused of sexually abusing several boys in the 1980s. Rev. Leo P. Riley, 68, of Port Charlotte, Florida, is charged in Iowa District Court in Dubuque County with five counts of second-degree sexual abuse. He appeared in court for the first time this morning after being arrested in Florida last month. In addition to setting cash bail, Iowa Assistant District Judge Robert Richter ruled that Riley would not be allowed to leave Iowa while the trial was ongoing. Judge ordered Riley to wear an ankle monitor and undergo pretrial monitoring by the Iowa Department of Corrections. Judge also placed a no-contact order on each of the alleged victims and witnesses and prohibited Riley from having any contact with minors. Court documents show that four people said they were sexually abused by Riley from 1985 to 1986, when he was assistant pastor at Church of the Resurrection in Dubuque.
