MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Officers investigated a possible bomb threat at a Vons in Oakhurst Sunday evening.

Deputies say they responded with CHP to a call for service at the Vons gas station (40044 CA-49) in Oakhurst regarding a possible bomb threat.

According to investigators, shops in the immediate area were cordoned off and the gas station was closed to the public.

Detectives initially urged the public to avoid the area, but have since announced that a thorough search of the area did not find any arrest devices.

Deputies say the area has been cleared and operations are resuming.
