Storms will threaten the Houston area for Mother’s Day

Another round of storms is heading toward the Houston area for Mother’s Day.

A flood watch is in place through Monday for Madison, Houston, Trinity, San Jacinto and Walker counties. Another 2-4″ of rain is possible, with showers of 6″ in some areas.

Montgomery County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 3 p.m. Sunday.

We could also see widespread showers and storms on Monday, with some threatening to be heavy to severe.

Rain totals could reach 2″ to 4″, exceptions will be northeast of I-10 where communities could reach 6″ or more if we see training storms (storms moving over the same area to many times). At the opposite end, near the coast, it might be difficult to touch an inch.

After tomorrow’s rain we should be sheltered until the end of the week.
