Police launch an attempted murder investigation in Pearl City

Honolulu police launched an attempted murder investigation Friday morning after a man was shot in the hand in the Pearl City area.

According to a Honolulu police bulletin, the 21-year-old victim was “taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.” Hospital staff reported the incident to HPD, which opened an investigation into attempted second-degree murder.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday in the Pearl City area, according to the bulletin. The suspect is male, the release said, but his identity is unknown at this time.
