The average, mostly dry Mother’s Day is in store before another rain on Monday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – There’s another chance to see the Northern Lights in the Mid-South this evening. Once the sun goes down, you need a clear view away from lights. Cloud cover should be minimal until after midnight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 70s this evening.

TONIGHT: It will be partly cloudy overnight, with lows around 60°. Winds will be easterly at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

MOTHER’S DAY: A good mix of sun and clouds during the day. Mainly dry, with isolated showers possible into the late afternoon and early evening. Highs will reach into the lower 80s.

INTO THE WORKING WEEK: Rain returns early Monday morning and a low pressure area takes hold. Showers and a few storms are expected during the morning commute and again into the late afternoon and evening. Some of these could be strong, bringing gusty winds and heavy rain. Scattered showers are expected to continue into Tuesday before disappearing by the middle of the week. However, our next storm arrives late Thursday into Friday, bringing additional chances for showers and storms. High temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 70s through midweek before climbing back into the 80s toward the end of the week and into next weekend.
