The criminal trial against a 21-year-old man accused of raping a 15-year-old deaf-mute girl has been postponed several times pending DNA analysis.

The defendant, whose name cannot be released until he pleads to the charges, appeared before the Moretele Temba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

When the case was first heard, the defendant was not in court. The matter was then dropped and the accused appeared later.
