Ex-Pastor from The Woodlands Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Bruce Hollen, a 63-year-old former church pastor from The Woodlands, was taken into custody on charges related to child pornography. The arrest followed an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as confirmed by Montgomery County Precinct 3 Police.

Hollen appeared in court Friday where his bail was set at $30,000. He is charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography, which under Texas law includes knowingly possessing material depicting a child under 18 engaging in sexual conduct.

According to court documents, some of the photos showed girls ages 9 to 12 who were naked from the waist down and engaged in sexual activity.

Hollen was pastor of Calvary Chapel of The Woodlands and posted the following statement on her social media profiles:

The Board of Directors of Calvary Chapel of The Woodlands has discussed the allegation against Pastor Bruce Hollen and has unanimously decided, effective immediately, that Bruce Hollen will be removed from his role as senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of The Woodlands effective August 5, 2024. The Board of Directors has hereby determined that Bruce Hollen no longer has the authority, authorization or permission to conduct business on behalf of Calvary Chapel of The Woodlands. He may not pose as a leader of the Church in any capacity or speak about the Church in any capacity.
