A Florence man was killed after crashing into a tree

LAUDERDALE COUNTY – A Florence man died Friday morning after crashing into a tree a mile north of Florence, Alabama, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Cody Farrar.

Around 7 a.m., a 2020 GMC Yukon driven by Jared G. Box, 39, left Alabama 133 near Lewis Bruce Lane and struck a tree.

Box was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available as ALEA Highway Patrol Division troopers continue to investigate.
