Atlanta Falcons testing 13 players to fill out rest of 90-man roster

The Atlanta Falcons’ 2024 rookies are all in town and preparing to start their rookie minicamp starting today, May 10th through Sunday, May 12th. Head coach Raheem Morris says this is the time for these trial players to have “legitimate opportunities to have some tape that we can watch and evaluate.” The Falcons’ roster currently stands at 86 players, including the ten free agents they signed, which leaves “four to five spots” for the 13 players they signed.

The challenge of rookie minicamp is that there are no pads, making it difficult to gauge how these players’ skills will translate on the field. When asked about this challenge and what he expects from Test players, Morris says it’s “all about movement”. Morris says the staff looks at “movement, intent and (how they) correct their mistakes.”

The 13 players recruited by the Falcons are as follows:

  • Villanova LB Daniel Abraham
  • Former Cowboys/Jets DL Bradlee Anae
  • David Anenih, former Falcons OLB
  • Tarik Black, former Ravens WR
  • Dane Cruikshank, former Titans
  • Dylan Drummond, former Lions WR
  • Bowling Green WR Odieu Hiliaré
  • Sean McKeon, former Cowboys TE
  • SUNY Brockport OL Scott Ocshsner
  • Philip Ossai, North Alabama OLB

  • Casey Roddick, Florida State OL
  • Keith Russell, Western Missouri State OL
  • Western Kentucky CB Davion Williams
