Stefon Diggs walks his first red carpet as a Houston Texan in Custom H&M at the 2024 Met Gala

Stefon Diggs almost didn’t make it to the 2024 Met Gala. Rain in Houston, his new home base since signing with the Texans last month, kept the star receiver grounded last night. He was fitting for the custom liquid midnight blue H&M suit he’s wearing on the red carpet until a few hours ago, but he showed no stress during a call from the Carlyle, where H&M has set up shop in his suite of fittings.

“I had 100% confidence since I saw the drawing,” he told Vogue. “I wish I was here yesterday, but they did a very diligent job taking my measurements at the first fitting, so it kind of worked out.” The costume is made from vintage fabrics sourced from New York, and Diggs accessorizes it with jewelry, including Greg Yuna necklaces, a Nick Bindi ring, and Shayan Afshar pear earrings.

This is Diggs’ second Met Gala; he attended in 2023 as a guest of Tommy Hilfiger, after standing out at fashion shows in New York and Paris. “I was a little intimidated the first time, but this time I have a little more experience,” he said. “But I’m just as excited as my first time, it’s like a new beginning.”

Diggs’ new start with the Houston Texans officially begins on September 5, when the first games of the 2024-25 season will be played. For now, he’s getting to know his new teammates, including rookie quarterback CJ Stroudl. “It’s a great atmosphere,” he said. “We know we have something special, we have a lot of very talented people, we have a young star quarterback. Now we put the rubber on the road. There’s a lot of camaraderie. You can feel the energy: everyone gets along well, competes at a high level and works extremely hard.

When he’s not doing two and three a day, Diggs focuses on his young brand Liem, a collection of hoodies, t-shirts, joggers and cargo pants made in his image, which he launched in 2022 “The next release will be in June, and we are working on the mood board and the visuals, but I always keep the main thing (football) at the forefront, because without the main thing I don’t think I would be. there.
