More information released on Spencer County shooting incident

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Additional information has been released regarding a weekend shooting in Spencer County.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified of the incident at 7:30 a.m. Sunday by the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating a shooting that occurred the night before on the north side of the Ohio River near the Glover Cary Bridge.


Officers stated that a victim was shot and the suspect fled the scene. The SCSO requested the DCSO’s assistance in locating the suspect.

Officials say Daviess County authorities began searching several areas and eventually found the suspect around 12:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Danberry Street in Owensboro.

The suspect was reportedly taken into custody without incident and transported to the Daviess County Courthouse to be questioned by Indiana State Police and Spencer County Sheriff’s Detectives.

The suspect was reportedly remanded in custody in Indiana on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and criminal recklessness in the handling of a firearm.

Officials also stated that officers transported the suspect to the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center and booked him there.

Officials say the youth’s identity will not be released until the court approves it.
