Dentist arrested for sexually abusing a minor girl in Tennessee | News from Chennai

PUDUKOTTAI: A dentist was charged with sexual abuse of a underage girl in a clinic in Pudukottai City on Monday.
The 17-year-old girl, accompanied by her 43-year-old mother, visited the clinic of Abdul Majeed, 36, from Thirugokarnam on Sunday. The dentist prescribed a medicine for her mother and asked her to get it from a pharmacy near the main bus stand in Pudukottai, four kilometres away.
The woman left her underage daughter at the dentist and went to the pharmacy. Later, the woman received a call from her daughter. She rushed back to the practice, where her daughter complained to her about the sexual abuse by the dentist.
The mother confronted the dentist and later reported the matter to the police.
Based on the complaint, Pudukottai police officers conducted investigation, registered a case under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested him.
