Police investigate shooting at Columbia mall

Howard County Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Columbia Mall.

At 6:10 p.m., police received a call about shots fired in the food court area. Officers responding to the call found a dead man and are working to identify him.

Through investigation, police determined that those involved had left the mall. There is no ongoing threat or danger to the public and officers are working to evacuate people in an orderly manner. Investigators believe the victim was targeted.
