Map blocked after accident in Cumberland

After the second race on Saturday (July 20), the harness racing at First Tracks Cumberland was cancelled after an accident occurred during the race.

This is the information provided in their Facebook post:

“Live racing for the remainder of our Saturday afternoon schedule had to be cancelled due to a serious accident that occurred on the way to the quarter pole in Race 2. Riders Garrett Mosher, Mike Stevenson and Walter Case Jr. were all transported to local hospitals for treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with these equestrians and their families as their medical conditions are determined. Information will be updated as it becomes available. All horses left the racetrack under their own power.”

UPDATE (20.07.2024 20:56) – According to First Tracks Cumberland’s Facebook page, they provided the following update:

“As an addendum to our original post, the three riders involved in today’s race two crash have all been examined by doctors, are awake and conscious, and are not in life-threatening conditions. Some have sustained injuries, but the severity of these will not be published on this forum. We respect their privacy and ask that others do the same. We will continue to keep them in our thoughts and wish them a speedy recovery.”
