Highway patrol says motorcyclist died in accident in Marlboro County

MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WBTW) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Clio in Marlboro County Monday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened about 7:55 p.m. on Highway 9 at Zion Church Street when a 2014 Honda traveling northbound veered off the right side of the road and struck a culvert, Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover said.

The driver was the only person on the motorcycle, Glover said. Further information was not immediately available.
