13-year-old arrested in connection with several armed robberies, DeKalb County police say

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – A 13-year-old “known armed robbery suspect” was recently arrested, DeKalb County police said Monday.

Police said they were patrolling the Brookfield Lane area in Decatur on Thursday when they spotted the teenager.

Officers reportedly arrested the boy and “during the investigation, a black handgun and evidence” of previous armed robberies were found.

According to police, the 13-year-old was charged with three counts of armed robbery and taken to the DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center.

The suspect’s name was not disclosed because he is a minor.
