Stanton man seriously injured in lawnmower accident | News

STANTON – A Stanton man was seriously injured in a lawn mower accident over the weekend.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash in the 1100 block of Douglas Street in Stanton around 10:50 a.m. Saturday.

An investigation revealed that the 63-year-old man operating the lawnmower lost control, causing both he and the lawnmower to fall more than thirty feet down an embankment into Maskentine Creek, landing on their sides in the water.

First responders were able to stabilize the man and transport him to Faith Regional in Norfolk for treatment.

Alcohol consumption may have contributed to the accident.
