Missing Chula Vista hiker found dead in Riverside County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Chula Vista man who went missing while hiking in Riverside County was found dead Wednesday, authorities said.

Hantae Kim, 61, was reported missing around 11 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department told FOX 5/KUSI on Tuesday. He was last seen in the area of ​​the Fuller Ridge Trailhead, which is part of the Pacific Crest Trail, off Black Mountain Road in Whitewater.


However, on Wednesday, Kim’s body was found in a ravine east of the Fuller Ridge Trailhead and south of Snow Creek.

There is currently no evidence of a crime, Vickers confirmed.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted search operations with a rescue helicopter, search parties, and other law enforcement agencies.
