When is the Taste of Buffalo?

The Surprisingly Savannah Trolley Tour will visit the Taste of Buffalo this weekend to encourage Buffalo residents to visit the Georgian city.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — You might call it the Taste of Buffalo, but a new attraction at this year’s festival came from Savannah, Georgia.

“We’re here for the Surprisingly Savannah Mobile tour. We’re visiting 11 cities this year, and Buffalo is one of them,” Kim Webster Liebgott, marketing manager for Visit Savannah, told 2 On Your Side.

“We want you to think of Savannah when you plan your next getaway. Especially this winter when it’s really cold and snowy, come down south and enjoy our southern hospitality and charm.”

Webster Liebgott said they chose Buffalo as a stop on their tour because they noticed an increase in Western New Yorkers visiting the city and enjoying the walkability, outdoor dining and history.

“We noticed that a lot of Buffalo people or a lot of Buffalo people were coming to Savannah, so we thought we really wanted to increase that number,” she said.

For those who aren’t yet familiar with it, the touring trolley is exactly the same one you’ll see if you visit Savannah in person.

“That’s one of the things I always recommend when you first come to Savannah: take a trolley tour around the city,” Webster Leibgott said. “They take you to different museums, houses and all kinds of places. It really gives you a sense of the city of Savannah.”

At the Taste of Buffalo, visitors will be able to stop by the cart to sample Savannah products, including honey from the Savannah Bee Company and pralines from the Savannah Candy Kitchen. Prizes will also be awarded to those who correctly answer Savannah trivia questions.

Look for the Surprisingly Savannah cart in Niagara Square near Delaware Avenue during the Taste of Buffalo from 11am to 6pm each day.

The Taste of Buffalo runs from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sunday.
