Suspects in July 4th burglaries also linked to Hendricks County incident

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – Two burglars who reportedly broke into several homes in Marion County and Hancock County on July 4 are also linked to a burglary in Hendricks County on July 5.

According to a police report from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call about a burglary at a home north of Danville on July 5. The burglary reportedly occurred around 10:40 a.m. on Friday, but was not reported until around 5 p.m. that afternoon.


Surveillance footage shows a person wearing a tan uniform knocking on the door of a home on N SR 39 near Danville. The man’s face is obscured in the video, but matches the outfit of one of the two people involved in the other two incidents.

Another video from inside the home shows a person wearing a similar outfit to the other two people involved in the two incidents. This man was reportedly in the vehicle they used to approach the home.

Police reports state that the two individuals, whose identities have not yet been released, stole more than $10,900 worth of cash, bonds and banknotes and more than $18,200 worth of jewelry from the Hendricks County home, including:

  • A custom 14k yellow gold ring with three diamonds
  • A wedding ring with diamonds
  • Several gold and silver chains
  • A solid gold Mickey and Minnie pendant
  • Necklaces and earrings

According to the report, several identification documents were stolen from four people, including passports, social security cards and birth certificates.

According to previous reports, the burglars were captured on home surveillance systems breaking into homes in Marion County and Hancock County on July 4. Detectives in Hancock County and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are currently investigating the incidents.
