Greenville police are investigating after a body was found in downtown Greenville Sunday morning. A police spokesperson tells us officers were called to 241 North Main Street at 7:40 a.m. when someone said they found an unconscious person on an outside staircase. Shortly afterward, EMS pronounced the person dead at the scene. Police say it appears the man fell from an unknown height. There are several two- and three-story businesses and apartments in the area. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the person as 25-year-old Ismael Corona Alvarez of Greenville. Detectives and officers are investigating.

Greenville police are investigating after finding a body in downtown Greenville Sunday morning.

A police spokesperson told us officers were called to 241 North Main Street at 7:40 a.m. when someone said they found an unconscious person on an outside staircase.

Shortly afterwards, the emergency services declared the person dead at the scene of the accident.

According to police, the man fell from an unknown height. There are several two- and three-story shops and apartments in the area.

Death investigation

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the person as 25-year-old Ismael Corona Alvarez of Greenville.

Detectives and officials are investigating.
