Marlon Wayans speaks about the break-in at his home involving his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans

Last week, Marlon Wayans’ home was broken into while his brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, was inside. Marlon Wayans, known for his comedic talent, and his famously witty family were the latest targets of burglars in the Los Angeles area.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. last Saturday. While Marlon was not home, his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was present when two brazen thieves broke into the home. The intruders sneaked into the backyard, smashed a rear window and gained entry to the home.

Keenen was reportedly awakened by the noise but was unaware of the seriousness of the situation. Thinking it was nothing serious, he shrugged and went back to bed. It was not until one of Marlon’s co-workers returned home around 8:00 a.m. and found the house ransacked that the break-in came to light. Keenen was shocked to find that the thieves had stolen a safe and several thousand dollars in cash.

The police have now launched an investigation and are searching the neighborhood for video footage that could lead to the perpetrators. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Marlon Wayans assured his fans on Instagram that he and Keenen are OK and expressed his gratitude. “God is so good. Everyone is OK. I’m thankful,” he wrote. In a video posted on Thursday, the stand-up comedy star and former “White Chicks” star spoke about the break-in and humorously suggested the burglars pick a “better” target next time.

In the one-minute video, Wayans joked, “The most valuable thing in my house is my house. So if you don’t want to load that (expletive) on a truck and drive away, then, yeah, man, you did a good job, but I don’t own (expletive).”

He continued: “Sorry, I live a simple life with two cats and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover. If you steal it, you’ll need a jump start because the battery is dead,” adding: “I don’t have much cash or jewelry.”

Wayans also warned against burglaries in a heartfelt message to robbers: “Robbers, don’t waste your energy or your life on burglaries.” On his Instagram page, he continued:

“Dear RACERS and OTHERS,
I’m the WRONG n***** to ROB. Save your energy. I have nothing of value in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life with 2 cats and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover. You’ll need a jump start if you steal it because the battery is dead. Robbers don’t waste your energy or your life breaking in, that stuff is too heavy!!! You want to lug all that crap around? Bust your back and what for?! I repeat, I own nothing of value. I don’t have a pile of cash or jewelry. Please find something better 🎯 thanks and love… anyway.”
