Henrico Police release more details on hit-and-run accident on Nine Mile Road as investigation continues

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County Police have released more information about a Hit and run which occurred early Friday morning on Nine Mile Road, while the investigation is ongoing.

On Friday, July 5, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Henrico Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road.


When officers arrived, they found a woman and a small child who had apparently been hit by a car. According to police, both victims were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, July 5, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Henrico Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road.

According to police, preliminary investigations indicated that the woman was traveling against the westbound lane of Nine Mile Road on the shoulder of the eastbound lane when the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a silver sedan or coupe, was traveling eastbound in the right lane and struck the victim.

According to police, the driver of the accident vehicle then left the scene of the accident.
