Sitapur: Minor girl on her way home from school raped at gunpoint by Class 11 student in Uttar Pradesh, case registered under new penal code

Lucknow, July 4: A shocking rape incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh. A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager. The alleged rape incident took place in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. Police officials said the youth raped the minor girl at gunpoint in Sitapur. The incident took place when the girl was on her way home from school.

According to a report in Indian TimesThe youth intercepted the minor girl and arrested her at gunpoint. After that, the teenager forcibly took the minor girl to an abandoned hut and raped her. Though the victim did not report the incident to her family, the matter came to light when her brother came across an objectionable video of her and the accused shared it on social media. The family then approached the police and filed a complaint on July 2. Based on the complaint, the police launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Mahmoodabad SHO Anil Kumar Singh said the complaint was filed under the new laws. During the preliminary investigation, the police came to know that the accused was a minor studying in Class 11.

The police managed to trace the accused through his electronic traces. The SHO also said that the youth will be questioned to find out how and where he acquired the weapon. Meanwhile, the police have deleted the objectionable videos of the girl that she had shared online. However, they have kept evidence of the objectionable videos to use in the case. While the investigation into the case is still ongoing, the victim’s father stated that his daughter was traumatized after the offensive video appeared on the Internet.
