Fallen power line causes traffic jams at the corner of 71st & Riverside

Police are asking drivers to avoid 71st and Riverside streets because downed power lines are expected and there will be a power outage on Wednesday.

Tulsa Police said a semi-trailer truck struck a power line that had been downed due to the tilt of the poles as a result of this morning’s storms, causing a power outage.

The accident occurred at the QuikTrip on 71st Street near South Quincy Avenue.

According to police, PSO is already working to restore power to the area.

According to police, delays are to be expected or the area should be avoided.
