Police: 1 dead after accident in Buckeye

The accident occurred near Main Street and Verrado Way, Buckeye police officials said.

BUCKEYE, Arizona – One person was killed when a car carrying three passengers crashed into a tree in Buckeye, city police said.

The accident occurred near Verrado Parkway and Main Street, according to a police social media post around midnight.

Northbound traffic on Verrado Parkway is restricted at Main Street and southbound traffic at Sunrise Lane. Police are asking drivers to avoid this area.

The police were unable to determine the identity of those involved in the accident. It is not known whether speed or alcohol played a role in the accident.
