Spotty showers appear in the Houston area

HOUSTON – The National Hurricane Center has begun issuing advisories for an area of ​​low pressure, designated Potential Tropical Cyclone 1, currently located in the Bay of Campeche.

We are also seeing a few spotty storms coming off the coast as the first bands of tropical rain approach.

A flood watch has been issued for Washington, Colorado, Chambers, Wharton, Fort Bend, Jackson, Matagorda, Brazoria and Galveston counties until 1 a.m. Thursday.
