Months-long drug investigation ends with the barricading of a mobile home and two arrests

GIBSON COUNTY, TN. – On the evening of 6/17/24, agents from the 28th Judicial District of Gibson County concluded an eight-month investigation with the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics and two arrests.

During the months-long investigation, agents tracked 42-year-old Jonathon Forrest throughout central and western Tennessee and at times even into Kentucky.

Last night, agents tracked Forrest, who also had multiple arrest warrants, to a motor home parked in front of a residence on Tull Road in the Mason-Hall Community in Gibson County.

Upon arrival, Forrest barricaded himself inside the RV. Agents requested assistance from the Gibson County Sheriff’s SWAT and K-9 units, who arrived on the scene. Forrest eventually surrendered to agents without further incident.

Agents received reasonable suspicion to apply for and obtain a search warrant for the property. Inside the RV, agents discovered evidence that Forrest had flushed several baggies of methamphetamine into the RV’s holding tank before surrendering. Additionally, approximately 6 ounces (165 grams) of meth, 14 ounces (395 grams) of psilocybin, 2.7 pounds of marijuana, 90 alprazolam pills, 3 hydrocodone pills, a criminal amount of heroin, and a large amount of packaging material for resale were seized.

Forrest is accused of:

  • 2 counts of possession of Schedule I drugs with intent to sell.

  • 1 count of possession of Schedule II drugs with intent to distribute.

  • 1 case of casual exchange of Schedule II drugs.

  • 1 count of intentional possession of Schedule VI drugs.

  • 1 case of falsification of evidence.

  • 1 case of possession of drug paraphernalia.

While agents were on scene awaiting a search warrant, a woman later identified as Rachel Morgan, 49, drove to the scene in the vehicle that originally brought Forrest to the residence. When officers attempted to stop her, she fled the scene, prompting officers to engage in a brief chase before she was arrested without further incident.

Special thanks to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department for their invaluable assistance. The 28th Judicial District Attorney’s Office of Frederick Agee is prosecuting this case.
