San Jose police arrested a suspect allegedly involved in illegal gun sales and seized dozens of firearms in multiple searches after contacting him earlier this year.

Officers first stopped the suspect, a 23-year-old San Jose man, in January. In a news release on Wednesday, police said that during the “proactive” stop they found weapons that the suspect had sold illegally. Authorities said there were minors in the suspect’s car while he was transporting the weapons.

Police said their Gun and Dangerous Offender Suppression Team obtained search and arrest warrants for the suspect and obtained a gun violence restraining order to seize the suspect’s personal, lawfully held firearms.
