Police say suspect shot in Davenport apartment

A 20-year-old Davenport man was taken into custody Friday after police say he fired shots at a home, court records show.

Court records show that DeShawn Davis is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon – injuring/creating fear.

According to arrest affidavits, Davenport police were called to the area of ​​the 700 block of Clark Street at 7 a.m. on March 27 for a report of shots fired around 5:30 a.m.

The video shows a suspect wearing a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and sweatpants and another person wearing a gray sweatshirt, black pants and flip-flops walking along the side of a house from back to front.

In the video, police claim, Davis pulls out a gun and fires a shot into the occupied home, causing residents to fear for their lives, officers say in affidavits.

The two then run to a black Chrysler Sebring owned and driven by Davis and leave the area. A co-defendant had videos of both people in the car in the area of ​​the shooting shortly before the crime, according to affidavits.

A firearm seized on May 24 and analyzed by the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network resulted in a cartridge case found in front of the residence.

According to affidavits, police said Davis “had access to the firearm used at the time of the shooting.”

Davis, who was arrested on a warrant Thursday, was being held in the Scott County Jail on Friday on a total of $11,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Scott County Court on June 21.
