1 dead after shooting outside apartment in northwest Oklahoma City

According to police, a man was killed in a shooting outside an apartment in northwest Oklahoma City on Thursday evening.

According to Oklahoma City police, the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. at an apartment complex near Lyrewood Lane and West Wilshire Boulevard.

According to police, the victim opened the door of his apartment to leave and was shot shortly thereafter.

“According to witnesses, he was about to walk out the door,” said OCPD Lt. Jeff Cooper. “The door opens, the suspect fires a shot, the victim falls to the ground and is taken to a hospital where he later died.”

Police say investigators are still working at the scene to piece together details.

There is currently no information available about the suspect.
