Man arrested and charged with voyeurism at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Edinburgh

A 64-year-old man has been charged with voyeurism after attending one of Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras tour shows in Edinburgh, Scotland over the weekend.

Scottish police said the concertgoer was arrested on Saturday at the 14-time Grammy winner’s sold-out show, where the singer performed in front of 73,000 spectators at Murrayfield Stadium.

“A 64-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a voyeurism offence he committed during the event at Murrayfield on Saturday 8 June,” Superintendent David Happs said in a statement.

“He was released on bail to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.”

In the UK, non-consensual voyeurism is a criminal offence. It is the act of obtaining sexual gratification by watching or recording someone else performing a private act.

The 34-year-old “Fortnight” singer started the British leg of her world tour on Friday with a total of three sold-out shows in the Scottish capital.

Every night, the “Cruel Summer” singer performed in front of 73,000 spectators, making her shows the best-attended stadium concerts in Scotland’s history.

“Edinburgh!!! You guys really blew me away this weekend,” Swift wrote on Instagram after the shows.

“Thank you for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland three times in a row and for making us feel so much joy and at home. I love you all, 220,000 of you!!!”

And there were also special moments at the shows in Edinburgh: During her combined “Folklore” and “Evermore” set, the singer even witnessed a couple’s engagement.

“I love doing this whole show in the sunlight because I’m pretty sure I just saw someone get engaged,” the pop star told the crowd at Murrayfield Stadium in a clip shared on Threads.

When fans confirmed the exciting news, the “Karma” singer raised both arms in the air and screamed, “Yes!”

“Congratulations, wow!” she added excitedly. “I just saw the whole thing. Man, this is incredible… Thank you for doing this at my concert; this is a big moment!”
