Police officer charged with alleged sexual harassment of a patrol officer

MANILA, Philippines – Authorities say a female patrol officer was sexually harassed by a police major in Bulacan on June 7 last year.

In a report on Monday, the Bulacan police identified the suspect as Major Gerardo Navarro.

According to police, Navarro allegedly went to the office of the Women and Children Protection Organization in Barangay Poblacion in Plaridel, where the victim was taking a nap.

The victim was awakened by the suspect’s embrace and attempted to stop Navarro, who allegedly continued to touch her body.

According to reports, the police officer only left when she called for help.

Navarro faces charges of violating Republic Act 7877, or the Sexual Harassment Act, police said.
