TED NUGENT on Pride Month: “Why should sexuality be a source of pride?”

In the latest issue of “The Nocturnal Nuge”a news-style clip in which Ted Nugent offers his opinion on the news of our world, the outspoken conservative rocker was informed by co-host Keith Mark that eleven NFL (National Football League Professional American football league teams reportedly hadn’t shared any Pride-specific messages on social media during the first few days of Pride Month. Pride Month occurs in June and is a time when the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and their supporters and allies come together to celebrate love, diversity, acceptance and unabashed self-pride. Ted answered (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Hallelujah. Boy, I knew I felt love somewhere. But if you’re gay, that’s a policy. Nobody cares. We just want to know if you’re honest. Are you on time? Are you giving your heart and soul to be the best you can be? Can your family and friends and fellow Americans trust you? Nobody cares what your sexual preferences are behind closed doors. We hope you keep them behind closed doors. But the bottom line is this: Why should sexuality be a source of pride unless you have a hidden agenda like the drag queens who literally twerk the genitals of fat men while little boys and girls sing, ‘It doesn’t lick itself’? You’re proud of that? I don’t think so.”

The NFL has reportedly designed an entire Pride Month clothing line celebrating the LGBTQ community, love and football enthusiasm of the LGBTQ community. This follows a NFL-sponsored LGBTQ Super Bowl Party in Las Vegas. On social media, the league has also shared Pride-inspired messages from various NFL Team.

Last October National Football League announced the continuation of its partnership with The Trevor Projectthe leading suicide prevention and mental health organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. The NFL continues to work with The Trevor Project in programming, training, and other activations as part of the League’s ongoing efforts to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization and world.

Two years ago, Nugent defended Florida’s controversial so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law, saying it was about giving parents “the right to guide, educate and raise their children.” The law, titled “Parental Rights in Education,” was dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” law by critics because it sought to ban discussions of gender and sexuality issues with younger students.

A year ago, Nugent blew up the Los Angeles Dodgers for her decision to allow the controversial anti-Catholic LGBTQ+ activist group of “queer and transgender nuns” known as the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence to perform at a Pride Night event.

In April 2023 Nugent shared a tweet denouncing the existence of transgender people and telling people they could “debate” with him if they disagreed.

“There is no such thing as transgender. You can’t change your gender. Being comfortably numb is actually uncomfortably stupid. Argue with me, but bring your race number,” he wrote.

After Anheuser Busch announced that it is working with transgender influencers Dylan Mulvaney in April 2023, Nugent appeared in an episode of Newsmax‘S “Eric Bolling The Balance” to share his answer by saying, “The beautiful thing about my life is that I have never spent a red cent on alcohol. But I have made sure that my entire crew and my family will never allow Anheuser Busch Products somewhere near my world.”

After mentioning a Pride campaign from Jack Daniel’s as well as, Nugent called out these campaigns as “disrespectful” to the brands’ “core consumer audience,” by which he apparently meant conservatives. “How can they get together and come to the conclusion that they’re going to piss in the faces of the people who pay their salaries?” he said. “This is the epitome of cultural neglect in an ongoing tsunami of cultural neglect.”
