State Police investigate Long Neck murder – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police have arrested a 25-year-old Christopher Moran, from Millsboro, Delaware, for the murder of his stepfather, Dennis Harmon.

On June 2, 2024, at approximately 10:33 p.m., police responded to the 25000 block of Redwing Lane in Rehoboth Shores for a stabbing. When police arrived, they found 61-year-old Dennis Harmon in a front yard with stab wounds and began life-saving measures. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed that Moran stabbed Harmon multiple times during a struggle and fled the scene. Police found Moran on foot in Rehoboth Shores a short time later and took him into custody without incident.

Moran was arrested and transported to Squad 7 where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned before the Justice of the Peace of Court 2, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,180,000 cash bail.

  • First Degree Murder (Felony)
  • Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime (felony)
