Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued until 9 p.m. for parts of the Houston area

HOUSTON – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several counties.

Counties under surveillance include: Austin, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller and Washington.

The surveillance is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday evening.

The watch means that conditions are favorable for the occurrence of severe weather.
