Restaurant owner arrested in southern Athens for alleged rape

A 51-year-old restaurant owner from Glyfada, southern Athens, accused of raping a 31-year-old woman, appeared before the prosecutor on Thursday.

The man was arrested on Wednesday after the woman reported him to the police. The 51-year-old had attacked her after inviting her for a drink at his restaurant on Tuesday evening.

According to the woman, she felt dizzy and incapacitated after consuming two or three drinks during the night. The restaurant owner then took her inside his restaurant and abused her.
