Attempted armed robbery on armored truck under investigation

This afternoon (May 30) at approximately 12:30 p.m., Lincoln County Sheriff’s officers were called to an attempted armed robbery of an armored truck in Denver.

The incident occurred near a business at the intersection of Webb’s Road and NC Highway 16. The investigation was taken over by the Major Crimes Unit. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male armed with a handgun and driving a white sedan.
