Dallas man convicted of producing child pornography

Gemond Copage Miller, 34, was indicted in December 2021 and pleaded guilty in January to two counts of production of child pornography.

DALLAS – A Dallas man was sentenced to 60 years in prison Wednesday after filming himself sexually abusing girls as young as 6, federal officials say.

Gemond Copage Miller, 34, was indicted in December 2021 and pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography in January 2024. U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr also ordered that Miller be placed on lifetime supervision after his release from prison.

According to prosecution documents, Miller filmed himself sexually abusing children as young as six years old and then sold the recordings online.

Investigators were able to match the tattoos shown in the footage to Miller’s tattoo, officials say.

At the sentencing hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors admitted that Miller abused at least 10 girls under the age of 12. Law enforcement identified at least 38 child sexual abuse videos produced by Miller, officials say. To date, authorities have not identified all of the victims.

According to federal officials, Miller was also in possession of approximately 722 images and 1,733 videos depicting child sexual abuse.

“My sense of safety and security is shattered,” said a 13-year-old victim, who was six when she was first attacked, in a statement read by her mother. “I am the first victim to come forward… Knowing there are others shows that he does this. That’s the way he is. And he doesn’t care that he has taken children’s innocence.”

The investigation was conducted by the Dallas Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations and the Dallas Police Department, which began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
